Sex: ALLMin age: 18 Years

Inclusion Criteria: * Adults having to undergo carotid thromboendarteriectomy * social security coverage * provision of study information * consent to participation. Exclusion Criteria: * Previous carotid artery surgery * refusal to participate in the study * or inability to give consent.
