* Identification of microorganism using conventional methods or Vitek 2 compact system. * Anti biotic susceptibility test using conventional methods or Vitek 2 compact system. * For MDR gram negative bacteria: disc elution test and colistin broth microdilution

Sex: ALL

Inclusion Criteria: -Multidrug-resistant gram-negative isolates will be collected from clinical specimens (blood, urine, sputum, wound swabs, etc.) obtained from hospitalized patients in Assiut University Hospitals. Exclusion Criteria: * gram-positive bacteria * carbapenem-sensitive gram-negative bacteria * repeated sample for same patient or different samples from the same patient

Primary Outcomes

Evaluation of the disk elution test for detection of colistin resistant among multidrug resistant gram-negative bacteria compared with broth microdilution. And Molecular detection of colistin resistant in multidrug-resistant gram-negative bacteria by PCR

Time frame: start from 2026 up to 2029
