The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects of a Learning Paths and vodcast-supported teaching method on nursing students' knowledge levels, clinical skills, and learning motivation regarding urinary catheter insertion.
This study aims to determine the effects of Learning Paths and vodcast-supported urinary catheterization training on nursing students' knowledge, skills, and motivation. The research is designed as a parallel-group, pretest-posttest randomized controlled trial and will be conducted at the Faculty of Nursing, Necmettin Erbakan University during the spring semester of the 2025-2026 academic year. The sample of the study will consist of 99 students enrolled in the Fundamentals of Nursing course. The students will be assigned to three groups using a block randomization method: Learning Paths (n=33), Vodcast (n=33), and control group (n=33). Following theoretical instruction and skills training on urinary catheterization, students in the Learning Paths group will use the Learning Paths application, while those in the Vodcast group will use the vodcast application for a period of three weeks. The control group will receive standard education. The posttest will be administered three weeks after the pretest. Data will be collected using the Student Information Form, Knowledge Test on Female Urinary Catheterization, Female Urinary Catheterization Skill Checklist, and the Instructional Material Motivation Scale. Ethical approval will be obtained from the Scientific Research Ethics Committee of Necmettin Erbakan University Health Sciences, and institutional permission will be obtained from the Faculty of Nursing of Necmettin Erbakan University. In addition, written informed consent will be obtained from all participants using an Informed Consent Form. The data will be analyzed using appropriate statistical methods in the SPSS software package.

Female Urinary Catheterization Knowledge Test to determine knowledge.
This test will be used to assess knowledge of urinary catheter placement in female patients. The test consists of 10 questions. A score between 0 and 100 is awarded. Higher scores indicate a higher level of knowledge.
Time frame: The first measurement (pre-test) will be conducted on April 29, 2026. The second measurement (post-test) will be conducted three weeks after the first measurement, on May 20, 2026.
To assess the skill, use the Female Urinary Catheter Insertion Skill Checklist.
The checklist contains a total of 25 steps. Students receive 1 point for completing all steps correctly, 0 points for incomplete steps, and 0 points for not completing any steps. Each complete step earns the student 4 points. The checklist can be completed to a minimum of 0 and a maximum of 100 points. Higher scores indicate higher skill levels.
Time frame: The measurement will be taken on May 20, 2026. No pre-test will be administered.
Instructional Material Motivation Scale for evaluating motivation.
The scale is single-dimensional and consists of 14 items. It is a 5-point Likert-type scale. The minimum score is 14, and the maximum is 70. A higher score indicates a higher level of motivation towards the material being evaluated.
Time frame: The measurement will be taken on May 20, 2026. No pre-test will be administered.
