Effect of Trans-spinal Electromagnetic Neuromodulation in Treatment of Patients With Discogenic Lumbosacral Radiculopathy

Overview

Purposes of the study To investigate the effect of adding Trans-spinal Electromagnetic Neuromodulation to conventional physical therapy in patients with Discogenic Lumbosacral Radiculopathy

Patients will be randomized into either Trans-spinal Electromagnetic Neuromodulation group or Conventional physical therapy group. Patients will receive the intervention for six weeks. Outcomes will be assessed at baseline and post-intervention.

Interventions

Trans-spinal Electromagnetic NeuromodulationOTHER

Trans-spinal electromagnetic neuromodulation will be applied for 15 minutes on the affected segment

Conventional physical therapyOTHER

Conventional physical therapy consisting of: Hot pack on lumbar spine. Neurodynamic mobilization. Rotatory mobilization and rotatory manipulation for lumbar spine. Core stability exercises.

Sex: ALLMin age: 20 YearsMax age: 40 Years

Inclusion Criteria: 1. patient age range from 20 -40 from both sexes. 2. Unilateral chronic lumbosacral radiculopathy confirmed by neurosurgeon for more than 3 months. 3. Unilateral paracentral or lateral intervertebral disc herniation confirmed by MRI . 4. one of the following: 1. H- reflex amplitude side to side difference 67% in absence of latency difference. 2. H- reflex amplitude side to side difference smaller than 50% in presence of latency difference. c - Side to side H- reflex latency difference more than 1 msec. d- Prolonged H-reflex latency more than 30 msec. Exclusion Criteria: 1. Hypertension 2. Diabetes. 3. Lumbar canal stenosis 4. Pervious surgeries 5. Scoliosis 6. Kyphosis 7. Spinal fracture 8. Bilateral symptoms.
