This randomized comparative study evaluated supraclavicular brachial plexus block using three techniques in patients undergoing elbow and below-elbow surgeries. A total of 75 patients were included and allocated into three groups: Group A received a peripheral nerve stimulator (PNS)-guided block, Group B received an ultrasound-guided (USG) block, and Group C received a combined USG and PNS-guided block. The three techniques were compared with respect to ease of administration, success rate and quality of block, including duration of analgesia.

Success of supraclavicular brachial plexus block
Successful blockade of the brachial plexus resulting in adequate surgical anesthesia without the need for supplementary analgesia or conversion to another anesthetic technique
Time frame: Within 30 minutes after completion of the supraclavicular brachial plexus block
Time required for performing supraclavicular brachial plexus block
Time from insertion of the block needle to its removal, measured in minutes.
Time frame: During the supraclavicular brachial plexus block procedure
