Overview

evaluate the clinical experience of Sohag University Hospital with laparoscopic intraperitoneal onlay mesh repair for ventral hernias, assessing operative feasibility, intraoperative complications, postoperative recovery and short-term surgical outcomes, in order to determine its safety and effectiveness in a regional setting.

Eligibility

Sex: ALLMin age: 18 Years

Inclusion Criteria 1. Adult patients aged 18 years or older. 2. Patients diagnosed clinically and/or radiologically with primary ventral hernia. 3. Patients planned for elective laparoscopic ventral hernia repair using the IPOM technique. Exclusion Criteria 1. Patients unfit for general anesthesia or laparoscopic surgery. 2. Complicated hernias requiring emergency open surgery, such as strangulated hernia, bowel ischemia, perforation, or generalized peritonitis. 3. Incisional ventral hernias 4. Recurrent hernias 5. Active abdominal wall infection, skin ulceration over the hernia, or contaminated operative field. 6. Pregnancy. 7. Refusal to provide informed consent or inability to complete postoperative follow-up.

The primary outcome will be the safety and effectiveness of laparoscopic IPOM repair for ventral hernia, assessed by postoperative complication rate during the follow-up period.
