Is the TECAR therapy effective on supraspinatus tendon thickness, sub acromial space, pain intensity , shoulder range of motion, muscle strength ( supraspinatus and middle fiber of deltoid) and functional disabilities in patients with supraspinatus tendinitis?
Supraspinatus tendinitis is a common disorder of the rotator cuff characterized by inflammation and degeneration of the supraspinatus tendon, typically resulting from repetitive overhead activities, mechanical impingement beneath the acromion, or age-related degenerative changes. This condition often leads to shoulder pain, reduced range of motion, and functional impairment during arm elevation and overhead movements. Recently, Studies demonstrated that the addition of TECAR therapy to a standard physiotherapy regimen improves shoulder pain, disability, and passive range of motion in patients with adhesive capsulitis, supporting the use of TECAR as an effective modality in shoulder musculoskeletal rehabilitation.

Patients will be in a comfortable side-lying with treated shoulder uppermost and clean the area over the affected shoulder, apply coupling medium and then apply Capacitive mode to shoulder muscles for 10 minutes and Resistive mode for another 10 minutes.
Patients will receive conventional physiotherapy (range of motion exercises, stretching exercises, strengthening exercises, and scapular stabilization exercises).

Giza, Egypt
tendon thickness of supraspinatus muscle
tendon thickness of supraspinatus muscle will be measured by ultrasonography
Time frame: up to four weeks
Sub acromial space
Sub acromial space will be assessed using Ultrasonography.
Time frame: up to four weeks
pain intensity
visual analogue scale (VAS) will be used to asses pain intensity which patient will be instructed to put point on line from no pain to tolerable pain. The scale consists of a line, usually 10 cm long, ranging from no pain or discomfort (zero) , to the worst pain that could possibly feel (10).
Time frame: up to four weeks
Shoulder Range of motion
Shoulder range of motion will be assessed using an electro goniometer.
Time frame: up to four weeks
Muscle strength
Muscle strength will be assessed using a handheld dynamometer (Lafayette Manual Muscle Tester).
Time frame: up to four weeks
Shoulder functional disability
Shoulder functional disability will be assessed using the Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand (DASH). Quick DASH questionnaire is an 11-item patient-reported outcome measure designed to evaluate physical function and symptoms in individuals with upper extremity disorders. Each item is scored on a 5-point Likert scale ranging from "no difficulty" to "unable," and the total score is calculated by transforming the mean of the responses into a 0-100 scale, where higher scores indicate greater disability.
Time frame: up to four weeks
